Fall in Love with Fall on the The Northern Outer Banks

July 18, 2024

Soon, we will be experiencing cooler temperatures, lessening summer crowds and will be primed for many more wonderful beach days on the The Northern Outer Banks. It’s no secret that fall features beautiful beach days while bringing warmer ocean temperatures and frequent sightings of porpoises playing in the waves.

Even if you and your loved ones have already spent some time this summer on the beaches of the Outer Banks, the time is now to book your fall getaway. The fall has several long weekends that bode well for planning another stay at the beach. The conditions are great for some surf fishing, shell collecting, walks along the shoreline and seeing all of the birds preparing for their departures further south.

The cooler weather also brings some of our favorite seafood seasons, including tuna, oysters, shrimp and clams. You can sample some of these fare favorites at many of the restaurants on the The Northern Outer Banks.

Booking early for fall also ensures you have your choice of quaint beach cottages, inns or vacation rental homes for a couples getaway to a long weekend of fun with friends and family. Whether your plans are to enjoy a beach read in your chair, watching the wild horses roam the beaches, or exploring the grounds at Whalehead, there is so much to see and do in Corolla. Many of the vacation rentals offer various amenities to fit the needs and desires of you and your group.
