Under the Oaks Arts Festival
June 21 & 22, 2022
10am to 5pm on Tuesday and Wednesday
Historic Corolla Park
The annual Under the Oaks Arts Festival offers a colorful array of vibrant artworks and crafts on the grounds of Whalehead in Historic Corolla. This popular, free festival brings together a collection of talented artists from around the region. Visitors can expect to find paintings and prints, photography, pottery, jewelry, woodworks, and much more. Enjoy local food concessions and place a bid at the silent art auction.
Independence Day Celebration
July 4, 2022
Historic Corolla Park
5pm to 9pm (or at the conclusion of the fireworks show)
Corolla’s Independence Day Celebration features the largest fireworks display on the Outer Banks, and is a must-see! The fun begins at 5pm with incredible live music, fun family activities, and local food vendors. Fireworks begin at dusk, but you’ll want to come early for a good spot. Free onsite parking begins at 3pm at Historic Corolla Park and will be available on a first come, first served basis until full.
Please note that no coolers, alcohol or on-street parking are permitted in the park. The Historic Corolla Park boat ramp is closed on July 4 with no docking allowed. Dogs are permitted on leashes.
Cornhole Tournaments
Wednesdays: June 15 through September 14, 2022 at 4pm
Historic Corolla Park
The Corolla Cornhole Tournament is a fun and competitive challenge open to families of all ages. The tournament starts Wednesday, June 15 and runs through September 14. Up to sixteen teams will compete each week in a double elimination tournament. The cost to register is $20 per team, and while advanced registration is recommended you can register day of event if there is space available. Cornhole boards and bags are provided for players.
Each week winners and runners up will receive a prize from Currituck Travel & Tourism. At the end of the season, all first prize winners will be entered into a drawing for a fabulous grand prize, a beach vacation donated by Brindley Beach Vacations.
Corolla Cork & Craft
Every Wednesday: June 15, 2022 through September 14,2022

Historic Corolla Park – Whalehead
Join us every Wednesday this summer for tastings from local wineries and breweries, live music and curated craft artisans in the breathtaking and peaceful setting of Historic Corolla Park. With your $15 General Admission ticket, you will receive:
- Souvenir wine glass
- 2 oz. wine samples
- Two 2 oz. beer samples
- FREE tour of the Whalehead museum
- 10% discount with participating art vendors
- Live music!
Food vendors will also be on hand with an assortment of tasty items for sale.
Yoga in the Park
Thursdays: June 2, 2022 through September 1, 2022
7am to 8am
Historic Corolla Park
Please join us on Thursday mornings this summer on the north lawn at Whalehead for free all-levels, 60-minute Yoga classes. Whether you need a good long stretch after being in the car or a chance to finally escape the craziness of your day-to-day, this class has just what you need. Every session includes guided meditation to re-center you, breath work to calm you, and a series of seated and standing postures to make you feel like your best self. Please bring a yoga mat, beach towel or tapestry, plenty of water, and sun protection.
